Seminar Description:

Greetings Former Students! Alan and Adora of Palmer Associates Inc. invite you to join us for a One Day Refresher Course which is now recommended every three years in a recent ACOEM Position Paper admonishing that "those certified personnel who conduct spirometry attend a refresher course every 3 years to discuss testing problems and to encourage technicians to remain vigilant and enthusiastic during spirometry testing".

This course provides 10.2 CA-BRN contact hour credits.

To make scheduling easier, we're providing several dates to choose from. We will keep the class size to 20, so it's first come first serve. If you miss your first choice of dates, you will be notified to select another date. Also, in the event a class does not fill sufficiently, we reserve the right to cancel with a 3 week prior notification. Please note too, that this one day course is available only to students who were previously certified through Palmer Associates Inc.. If you were originally certified with another agency, you will have to attend our two day course at $495.  This stipulation is based on past experience of shell shocked students seeing entirely new information.

Course Directors:

Dr. Alan Palmer is an epidemiologist and respiratory physiologist with 30 years of experience in pulmonary function testing. He is currently a consultant to industry in the area of respiratory testing and quality control and is considered an authority in the area of respiratory health surveillance and respiratory protection. He has published extensively in the field of spirometry testing techniques, development of spirometry standards and occupational respiratory diseases.

Kendra Palmer Anderson, BA, CST  is Course Director for Palmer Associates Inc. (PA). As the founder and former president of Fast Response On-Site Testing (FROST), she oversaw the OSHA mandated medical examinations on workers and performed spirometry for hundreds of companies. Before that she worked as a certified spirometrist conducting spirometry testing in the field for PA and worked as a NIOSH approved Practicum Instructor for 15 years.

Registration:

 

The tuition fee of $350 must be received two weeks prior to the course date. Since expenses are fixed, refunds cannot be given unless written cancellation is received two weeks prior to the course. The fee is also transferable to a subsequent course within a six months period. The fee includes a continental breakfast and lunch both days also beverages throughout the day, but does not include hotel or transportation costs.

Note regarding late registration:

If registration fee is paid at the time of the course, the course fee will be $375.

Fees paid after the completion of the course will be $425, and the certificate withheld until payment is received.
